President Donald Trump will participate in Paul Atkin’s private swearing-in ceremony as US SEC chairman, according to the President’s Schedule for Roll Call first shared by journalist Eleanor Terrett. The event will take place today at 16:00 on Oval Office.

Atkins, nominated by Trump to operate the country’s foremost financial supervisory authority, formally Adopted office on April 21 after receiving Senat confirmation earlier this month.
He is now working with other commissioners and the agency’s staff to promote SEC’s mission to facilitate capital formation, maintain justice, arranged and efficient markets and protect investors.
Crypto enthusiasts have welcomed Atkin’s official assumption of offices, and saw him as a pro-Crypto leader, as opposed to Gary Gensler, the agency’s tough former manager.
Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal congratulated Atkins and expressed gratitude to SEC Commissioner Uyeda for his leadership since he was appointed acting chairman.
“Congratulations to Mr. Atkins. And thanks to you actor Uyeda for his stewardship since January 20,” said Grewal. “We look forward to a new era for digital assets and much more.”
Alexander Grieve, Deputy Chairman of Government issues in Paradigm, also welcomed the leadership transition. Grieve said it was a much needed change in Sec leadership.
“Congratulations to Chairman Paul Atkins,” Grieve said. “And a well-deserved thank you to acting chairman Mark Uyeda, for leading one of the most productive and constructive starters to a new Sec service in decades.”
Busy days ahead for Atkins
Atkins is facing a busy agenda when he is answered as Sec -Chair, with digital assets at the forefront of his priorities. He has promised that the establishment of clear, rational and principle provisions for digital assets will be his highest focus.
The SEC is soon expected to issue decisions in the high-profile cases involving ripple and binance, with both parties currently under court-approved breaks-an extension in Binance Fall-to facilitate potential settlements.
At the same time, an order stock of Crypto ETF applications awaits final judgments. Industry analysts and crypto advocates believe that Atkin’s leadership can accelerate approvals that had stayed under previous Sec leadership.
