Blackrock has updated its Ishares Bitcoin Trust (Ibit) Prospectus with extended language on the potential risks that quantum computers constitute and add a detailed discussion to what was previously a brief mention of the technology.

The notification notes that progress in quantum computer technology can undermine the vitality of many cryptographic algorithms used globally, including those used to secure digital assets such as Bitcoin.
