Rosseti, Russia’s largest power network operator, is investigating crypto -breaking operations in its under -utilized power centers and aims to become a coordinator for mining infrastructure deployment across the country, according to State News Agency Tass.
“The Rosseti Group is the largest network company in Russia and can serve as an operator to coordinate the location of mining infrastructure,” the company told TASS.
The state -owned energy supplier sees crypto mining as an opportunity to utilize reserve capacity at low loads of power centers, which can increase both the company’s customs revenue and tax payments while contributing to economic development.
The network operator confirmed its technical preparedness for mining and noted that its infrastructure is equipped with the necessary exchange equipment to handle mining construction loads. The company also has operational information on available capacity and consumption patterns to ensure reliable regional power supply.
Rosseti is currently discussing various aspects of its mining development strategy, including the potential introduction of a separate customs structure for miners as a demand management tool.
